All, I am trying to understand what I am doing wrong as my data connection web service is not working.  Here is my steps

I created a data connection to the UserProfileService and selected GetUserProfilebyName then saved the connection

Next I saved the connection to a data connection doclibrary on the site collection site and made the following modification dc:Authentication><udc:SSO AppId='TargetAppID' CredentialType='NTLM' /></udc:Authentication> by downloading the file and reuploading it.

I tried it and got this error: An error occurred querying a data source. Click OK to resume filling out the form. You may want to check your form data for errors.  Target application not found (application id: TargetAppID).

I read that I needed to register this in the secure store so I did under the name:SP-Target-ProfileService

Hi,

Before you add the code below into UDCX file, please create a new Secure Store Service target application, and then add the account information. To do this, follow these steps:

1.Open SharePoint 2016 Central Administrator.

2.Click Application Management, and then click Manage service applications.

3.Click Secure Store Service.

4.Click New. Follow the instructions on the Create New Secure Store Target Application page to configure the target application settings. Note the string that you enter into the Target Application ID box.

Note Make sure that a new key is generated before you create a new Secure Store Service target application.

5.Point to the name of target application that you just created, and then select Set Credentials from the drop-down list.

6.Enter the account information for the Secure Store Service target application, and then click OK.

<udc:SSO AppId='TargetAppID' CredentialType='NTLM' />
</udc:Authentication>

And go to Central Administration > General Application Settings > Configure InfoPath Forms Services Web Service Proxy, check if both options are enabled.

And be sure that DisableLoopbackCheck is set on the SharePoint servers.
