更新无效。但是当我从page_load中删除id_disp（）函数时，更新开始工作。但是文本框中没有任何值可以向用户显示id。所以如果有人知道如何同时显示id和更新。

I am creating a webpage for both editing and adding users. The primary key is autonumbered. At Page load I call this function id_displ() to grab the max of the autonumbered field and put it in to the textbox for id. This textbox is used only to display the ID value to the user. There are 2 buttons addstudent and update. I have a gridview at the bottom that displays all the users. When I click select on any row update gets enabled. Then the data from that row goes up to user fields where i can modify them. But update is not working. But when I remove id_disp() function from page_load update starts working. But there won't be any value in the textbox for id to display to user. So if anybody know how to do both display id and update.
