It depends on the kind of traffic, but for some of it, yes. For SMB/SMB2 for instance, we can capture the traffic directly from the component. We have a scenario called SMBServer you can use. The TCP/IP layers are gone, but you get everything and before encryption as well. Another scenario, Network Tunnel traffic and Unecrypted IPSEC, uses a firewall provider to capture above the network layer.  And Unencrypted HTTP scenario captures straight from HTTP.

To use one of these advanced scenarios, goto File->New Session, then click Live Trace.  Among other advanced options, you can pick any scenario and customize it.
