I am using Visual Studio 2017 and Office 2016 on a Windows 10 platform (all recent upgrades). When using VS 2010 and Office 2013 on a Windows 7 platform, I frequently copied VS files or portions of VS files to Word documents to back them up. The formatting and color-coding always pasted just fine, and I did not have to use Paste Special.

Now, with VS 2017 and Office 2016, the Normal style from Word takes over and removes any VS formatting. In the Paste Special dialog box, only "Unformatted Unicode Text" is available.

P.S. This appears to be a Visual Studio 2017 issue, as the same thing is happening in OpenOffice Writer. Further investigation shows that if I post a section of code, the formatting is retained as it should be, but if I post the full contents, say from Partial Class to End Class, or a large section of code, it is not.
