问题描述

我们正在考虑在我们的组织中推出BCM 2010（版本4.00.11308.00），因为对于大多数用户来说BCM主要闲置的10-15个用户，但与联系人&移动设备。

 

目前只有3位用户在远程服务器上创建了BCM数据库，其中配置了一些离线数据库用户。

启用BCM后，用户当前会注意到Outlook中的Outlook和CPU使用率持续下降，范围从5％到15％不等。当更新联系人显示在较低的Outlook状态栏上时，使用率会增加。禁用

We are looking at rolling out BCM 2010 (Version 4.00.11308.00)across our organisation for say 10-15 users with BCM predominantly lying idle for most users but synchronised with Contacts & mobile devices.

 

Currently have only 3 users with the BCM database created on a remote server with offline database configured for a couple of the users.

When BCM is enabled, the users are currently noticing hangs in outlook and CPU usage against the Outlook.exe ranging from 5 to 15% on a continous basis. The usage increases when the message Updating Contacts displays on the lower Outlook status bar. Disabling BCM gets rid of the continous CPPU usage issue). (Working set memory also is increasing while BCM is running.)

I have BCM installed on a remote server(64bit) and have about 4 users(2 on 64 & 2 32Bit) Win7 using Outlook 2010. We are using BCM version 4.00.11308.00 on the server & Clients

We have offline sync enabled. 2 key problems affecting us at the moment that is stopping a further rollout to 20 users..

1. When users go offline at customer sites or at home and come back into the offfice, the sync manager tries to re-sync. Apparently it thinks that a lot of changes have been done while offline and comes up with way too many changes to sync. eg 700+ out of a total contact list of 1000. We are certain that our users have not done 700+ changes in a matter of hours. In some cases not even one change has been done either on the Central server or on the offline copy, yet user gets prompted to sync 700+changes. Is there any way to control the detail level of change replication?. Is there any timestamp field being updated when offline access is done? Is the replication detail level controllable?

2.Users are experiencing very frequent hangs in outlook while online with BCM. Few noticeable things are that we have observed the 'Updating Contacts' message on outlook status bar at the bottom when the hang happens. When BCM is online, we have also noted that Outlook is consistently consuming CPU around 10-15% even if no activity is being done within outlook or any messages are coming in (we have noted spikes when Updating contacts is displayed). I have set up the polling interval registry setting to 15mins on client & server & have also reduced the memory setting via SQL Studio management (2008) down to 2048mb from the default large value of 217xxxxxxx MB. Despite setting the PollingInterval setting to 15mins, the updating contacts message comes up much frequently then that like every few mins.

We have also turned Social connectors off..

 

Has anyone else experienced this and does anyone know of a successful workaround?

Thanks for posting in the MSDN Forum.

 

I tried to reproduce on my side. But I’m failed to install BCM 2010 on one of my computers. I will consult senior engineers for it. It will take some hours for response. Thanks for understanding and supporting.
