In Visual Studio 2005, some of the visual studio 2005 files is populated automatically to "Documents" folder. And I tried changing the path to some other location. But still observed that files were still written to the "Documents" folder. Is there a setting in which I can change this path so that files are not written to Documents folder ?

As my suggest, please use a later version of visual studio. We will promptly provide professional help for you. Thanks for your understanding and cooperation.

In addition, according to your description, not pretty sure which path you want to change? The Projects path or the other visual studio file path?

To be honest, the visual studio files location in Documents won’t cost much memory. Why do you want to change the path?

If you want to change the projects path, please refer to following steps like in vs2015:

1.       Go to Tools -> Options->Projects and Solutions -> General, change the "Projects location\User project templates location"

2.       Go to HKCU\Software\Microsoft\VisualStudio\14.0 and change the paths in there, too (That was DefaultNewProjItemLocation and VisualStudioLocation).
