I don't understand the process of packaging and deploying a SIGNED database in Access 2010 and unfortunately the documentation is not helping. In  the past, I simply used the VBA option Tools\Digital signature to enter my Digital Signature. When I ran the Package and Deployment wizard, the Digital Signature was stored in the install database and my customers upon running my system the first time could choose to Trust me as a publisher.

Now, there seem to be two processes involved but they don't seem to work together. There is Package and Sign which lets you select your Digital Signature and them generates a compressed database (accdc) which can be extracted as a accdb,  and there is Package Solution which replaces the old Package and Deployment Wizard.

I tried running the Package Solution on an accdb file which had been extracted from an accdc file (supposedly signed). But it did not seem to generate an install which was signed.

What is the relationship between these two? What am I missing.

Based on my research, if we want to create a setup installer for a *.accdc file, we may try some third party product, such as Winzip, InstallerShield.
