Your android app can poll a web service to get data from a website, and then react to that. Of course, that would cost a lot of money for people with limited data plans, but that''s the only way. Your web site cannot push data to your app. Unless the app actually opens a port and tells the website it is running and listening on that port, I guess, but that doesn''t seem very scalable to me.
