My second problem is that one of the field headings from this text file is as follows "head.ing" the fact that there is a full stop in the heading means that when i tried to make this heading in access it did not like it! so the questions is can i still import the data from "head.ing" if it field in access says "heading" ie differs from the import file

how i will be importing this text file will be from a button (as in my last thread) which opens a browser and the user selects the file. ive got the browser bit working its the bit above i need help with.
