So I got an ASP.NET App which manages internal company processes. This app allows the users to attach files to the processes, problem is when a user wants to change a file he haves to download it, change it and upload it again to replace the older version.

Sharepoint offers users the functionality to click a file, it will open on word and then the user makes the changes and saves the file as if it was a local copy. On save the changes are committed to the original file through it's URL. So there is no need for a manual upload in the end which makes it much more practical to use.
