Hello,
I have three SharePoint 2016 environments and we're trying to get the RSS Viewer web part working for external RSS feeds. Unfortunately, we can't get it working in any of the environments and I need some help. Here is information about our issue:
1. The web part error we're receiving is: "The requested RSS feed could not be displayed. Please verify the settings and url for this feed. If this problem persists, please contact your administrator." The RSS feed we're using for testing is http://rss.cnn.com/rss/cnn_topstories.rss (note, it is HTTP and not HTTPS). This feed works on a SharePoint environment located off network (my home lab), so I know the feed works. We've tried various other external feeds to no avail.
2. The ULS logs corresponding to the RSS webpart are as follows:

Hi,
Have you went through web config update for proxy update? And Web app needs also be Claims not NTLM.
Search for the web.config file and configured as followed:
<configuration> <system.net> <defaultProxy> <proxy bypassonlocal="true" proxyaddress="10.1.1.1:8080" usesystemdefault="true" /> <bypasslist> <add address="server.fqdn.com" /> </bypasslist> </defaultProxy> </system.net> </configuration>Note: Make sure that you can access the internet from the server SharePoint is hosted on. Make sure your web application can go to the internet to collect the information from the feed.
