What type of permissions do you have to the URL?  Depending on your access priveledges and the protocols the URL has running will dependthe best way of performing the test.

And see if you can access any files.  A URL like www.website.com is running HTTP Protocol that won't let you test if a file exists.  You can also use FTP to check if the file exists and I have VBA code that wil use FTP.
