How can I fix this please? I'm running VS2010 Professional on an x86 machine with Office 2007 installed.

Windows tells me that the VSTO 2010 system 4.0 runtime x86 is installed on my machine, but from VS2010 Professional I cannot see the Office templates as in the walkthrough (File| New Project | Visual C# | Office ) as the Office subcategory is missing.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled to get this working but to no avail. Any suggestions?

Welcome to MSDN forums!

The problem looks weird, as far as I can see there might be two possiblities, one is you are target .Net Framework 2.0 when you creating the project.

The second is that VSTO actually installs as an optional component, however, it is installed by default when you install Visual Studio 2010. If you installer Visual Studio 2010 by customization installation, it could not be installed. For more information please read this document:
