I want to upgrade to 7 from XP. My machine has got a C: and a D: onboard hard drive. (as well as plenty of processor power) If I move all critical files to my D: drive, will they remain undisturbed during a Windows 7 install or do I really need to drag them to a remote entity until the upgrade is completed?

Also, I need to run 32 bit on my unit is that an installation option?
