I've following the instructions to the "T" in upgrading from IE8 to IE9, but it fails to upgrade?????

Initially, upon installing the IE9 upgrade it says that it is incompatible and I will need to install Windows Vista Service Pack 1(KB936330). So, I go to download it; however, I've already have it installed on the system. Nevertheless, I go ahead download and overwrite the existing file.

Onced downloaded I run the s/w, but it says that "it is not applicable to my system..."??? I check MS website and via MSINFO32, I verify that my system is (a) MS OS Windows Vista Home Premium and (b) the system type is a X86-Based PC.

I then try to download SP2. Again, upon downloading it, my system also says, that it, too, is already installed. It also says that "it is not applicable to my system..."???

What can I do to resolve this problem?
