Hi, I am publishing a database to SharePoint 2010 and was wondering how SharePoint goes about reseting the autonumber field. I understand that it will reset it so that there are no gaps and remaps the new values to child tables. But here is my example. Old (pre-publish) ID's (autonumber field with some records deleted): 1,2,3,5,8,9. When I published the table, Sharepoint republished the records in this order 1,2,5,8,3,9 in terms of the old ID values.

I know my ID/autonumber shouldn't have any actual meaning and I'm ok with SharePoint reseting the autonumber field, I just want to understand how it does it.
