The Map-control (Wp8) shows very old aerial images. Why is it like this? The areal-images at bing are much newer. Do I really need to use a TileSource with GoogleSat for current imagery on a WINDOWS phone-app?

The legacy map control is likely still pointing to the Virtual Earth data. We have updated our mapping service to use Bing maps. The Bing Maps APIs are very easy to use.
