Is there a way for a document library to automatically scrape files from a sharedrive folder at upload any new files into the doc library?

We have 2 separate access models, computers on one set can access certain sharedrives, computers on the other access a different set.  Has to do with security.

Anyway, we have a set of documents that need to be available to both system groups.  Manually maintaining files on both sets of sharedrives would be difficult.  We don't have authority to move the entire folder structure up into sharepoint.  So we're looking at mirroring options.  We're wondering if SP can help us do this.
