It appears that my understanding of published app ID is not correct and I just want verification that if I have to share link of my app (before first time publish) how would I retrieve the App Id (in bold below) portion in code (for ShareLinkTask primarily)?

Some articles suggest that I can grab it as ProductId attribute of WMAppManifest.xaml file (under App tag) to form marketplace app link but a manual check for published app reveals that published app ID and corresponding ProductId are not a match. Is it like ProductID attribute of WMAppManifest.xaml goes through transformation during publishing process or what am I missing please?
