Hi,
I can't run Web Platform Installer on my machine. I keep getting the error: "Web Platform Installer has stopped working".
Looking into the trace event logs, I see these errors:

It seems that my .NET 2.0 might be corrupted but i can't figure out how to fix it. I already turned on Windows Features 3.5 (includes .net 2.0 and 3.5) as well as checking for the latest windows update.
I also tried to run the .NET 3.5 standalone exe, yet it did not run at all.
Any ideas of how to fix this?

According to your the description, from the document the download, it seems that does not method .net framework requirement, only about system, Internet Connection, administrator privileges

And the following link provide a solution, which uninstall sp1 for your reference.
I assumed my Service Pack 1 installation was corrupt so I uninstalled it from my machine. SP1 was the only thing in recent memory that updated the .NET packages to significant extents. The installer packages that crashed are now able to run without any problems and there are no more "Fatal Execution Engine Error"s in my event log.
The autochk.exe corruption as seen in my SFC scan log is still unresolved, but this appears to be an issue with Windows 7 and the hibernate function. Nothing to do with .NET, so I'll just mark this solved.https://forums.techguy.org/threads/solved-net-installation-repair.1006842/
