48 hours ago I installed the latest version of Windows Search from the MS site (the about box does not tell me any version number).
All went OK, so I have rebooted - all OK. I have then left the machine on since then - some activity including modifying both Word and Excel documents.
When I open up Waindows Searech it tells me (in the yellow warning bar) that:" Windows Search isn't running......". Well I have tried shutting down the trya icon and restarting from Start>All Programmes>Windows Search - the tray icon reappears, but the error message does not go away. If I ask for the Indexing status it just says "Waiting to receive Indexing status", and shows items indexed so far 0.
I cannot find any instructions to switch anything else on to make the indexing start, I tried a reboot 1 hour ago and it is still the same. Any clues?
