I have a Dell Inspiron 1720 laptop computer, I'm running Windows Vista and Internet Explorer. Everytime I go to back up the computer using the method suggested, I go to my computer, check disk C, then properties, then tools, and then check, I get a message box to run chkdsk, then it says it will do it the next time I reboot, but it never does, I have manually backed up my desired files to an outside hard disc, should I reinstall my Windows Vista, am I to a point I should purchase Windows 7, or do I need a new laptop....I'd like the cheapest option. My hardware can all be reinstalled.
