i have set up remote logging to inform me when one of our clients is running via backup 3G link to the internet

these remote logs get sent to my linux machine and are displayed in a webpage called isalive, now our goal is to set up on all our clients that have a backup 3G line, for them to be notified when they are running via the backup link or via our wireless link.

does anyone have any means for me to display a message on the clients pc when they are running via their backup link

Not sure you've posted this quesiton in a forum that can help.  From my perspective you could create an application that uses the Network Monitor API to scan network traffic and pops up a message and when well defined traffic appears.  But I have a feeling that's not what you are looking for.
