I installed visual studio (with xamarin, or what ever, i've been absent to long) and everything worked perfectly. Except i forgot to disable my anti virus (avast) and it falsely identified one of the executables pertaining to some part of the android sdk as a virus and quarantined it causing that part to fail to install. But wasn't a big enough problem to cause the whole installation to fail. So i was wondering, how do i go about figuring out exactly what failed? If i simply run the installer again, will i have to wait for all that stuff to install again? Or will the installer simply skip things that are already installed and install what is missing?

If you couldn’t uninstall visual studio from your pc, you couldn’t reinstall it but you could repair it. When you repair visual studio, firstly, it need to check if the msi file on your pc is corrupted. After this, it will download the corrupted components and then reinstall them.
