Several clients at my place of business use SharePoint sites to transfer files and ask that we set up alerts to know when files are available.

Unfortunately, the daily summary is not immediate enough and we lose hours or a day of working on the files.

I did try setting up a daily summary alert for each hour during our work day in the hopes that it would work like an hourly summary. Instead we get 12 notifications (one for each hour) for each batch of files sent. This is a bit of an improvement, but when multiple batches of files are sent throughout the day, it is very confusing trying to figure out what was received already.
