Hi,
I have an old app that was developed in Visual Studio 2008 targeting Windows Mobile 6 devices (Intermec Handhelds). We are unable to update the devices at this point and we need to make few changes to the app and redeploy it. I was unable to open the project in Visual Studio 2015 Community Edition.
What are my choices? Is there any way I can get Visual Studio 2008 installer, does it run on Windows 7?

Although there is no reference to Windows 7 in the VS 2008 readme, the readme was published long before the release of Windows 7. Visual Studio 2008 is supported on Windows 7.
You could get the iso file of Visual Studio 2008 from here : (3,30 GB) http://download.microsoft.com/download/8/1/d/81d3f35e-fa03-485b-953b-ff952e402520/VS2008ProEdition90dayTrialENUX1435622.iso
