We have SP 2013 env. We observed that App pool is stopped after few hours and needs to be restarted manually. This app pool is very important because it has all services like metadata, reporting, excel, user profile etc.

Please try to open the IIS manager,  Select the Application Pool.

After that, click Advanced settings.

In the Identity field reset the application pool user with retyping its username and password.

Check if it works fine.
