Iam trying to convert my vb6 to .net and using visual studio 2008 for it. The Conversion wizard ran and got error in the last step saying could not find the .vbproj file.

I did find a .vbprog.v7 file. When i tried to open the file it opened the conversion wizard again and then got an error saying Element Name does not have a reference. Opened the file and checked for black entries of Name and there is no entry of Name Reference that is blank. What is the issue here

As you have found out, the conversion wizard is not perfect. From what I remember, things like custom controls can have issues porting over. Complex projects in general are also problematic. Also, once the wizard has ran you can't (at least from memory) run it again.

The best option is to start over again in most cases when there are missing files and for that matter you are better off with starting over as even when the wizard works it does not truly upgrade to current methods of .net language.
