I need to use a VBscript file to analyze the usage of the CPU on a given PC.

I copied a VBscript sample from page http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee176718.aspx (latest sample in the page) and I can get the values of KernelModeTime and UserModeTime (properties of WMI Win32_Process ) for all the processes on my PC.

Can anybody please explain what is the meaning of the result I get? What scale is used?

If I sum the values for all the existing processes (including the system Idle) I would expect a number like 1 or 10000000 (1 second) or 4 (1 second for 4 cores on my PC) , while I get a number with no meaning for me.
