We are trying to make a PowerBuilder 5 application compatible with Win 7.  One of the Win7 logo requirements demands the exe signed.  So, I did exactly what I would do with signing a .NET app using signtool (the process is proven).  The resultant exe generated from signtool for this PB5 application carries a digital signature alright, BUT will immediately crash upon execution.

All I am getting in the Event log is "Faulting application ourapp.exe, version 5.0.4.76, faulting module pbrte050.dll, version 5.0.4.78, fault address 0x00022f58." 

Can you advise what action I can take to resolve this?

Does the problem only occur on Windows Vista and Windows XP?   If not, I think the problem may be caused by the PowerBuilder 5 application PE format.  You can consult the forum Security for Application in Microsoft Windows for better support.  http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/windowssecurity/threads.
