I am a basic user/beginner at using Sharepoint. I need to setup a site within our department's portal in sharepoint.

I have tried using both New Site as in 1. collaboration and 2. Meeting workspace. I have hit a few walls trying to do both.

1. Collaborative option has a calendar where I can add meetings but I cant add recurring meetings every second month but rather every month.

When we create a recurrence calendar, we can set the event recurred every two months as below:
