We are experiencing very slow indexing on a 32 bit machine over a UNC path.  When we examined some of the data out of the CSearchCatalogManager WS4 SDK index, we came across the "notification queue" parameter.  What exactly does this number represent?

In general, you should not try to index a share belonging to a remote machine. Instead, you should simply ensure it is indexed on the remote machine and then simply query that machine. From a UI perspective, querying the remote machine is done by navigating to the remote share and typing the search terms in the search box.
