you can easily configure your Search Content Source(Add/Update/Delete Content Source) with "https://yourwebapplication" but also please take in your consideration the following :-

try to browse the https Portal from the server where the crawler component configured and running on.if the portal is browsable , then that's good and i think the crawling process will start and go on smoothly . if  you couldn't browse your https portal from the crawler server , then you please apply the following :-
