I have a DCR-DVD805 camcorder... i work on WinXP Pro and have installed picture package 1.8.1. However, I am unable to copy movies from my camcorder to my hard disk whereas iam able to copy the photos from the memory stick to the hard disk without any problem.

This is a software developers application forum for Vista application compatibility issues and logo certification issues and is not the right place for the question you have posted. However, I will try and help you as much as I can.

For using Picture Package I would suggest you read the help files provided with it.

You can also use the following method to capture video from you camcorder.
1. On the Taskbar, click on Start -> Programs -> Windows Movie Maker.
2. Connect your camcorder to the computer via USB and put it in the appropriate mode.
3. Click on the "Capture from video device" and follow the instructions from there.
