I've created a new master page and page layout in Design Manager. When I preview the page layout in Design Manager, the layout appears correctly with no errors (see below).

I've checked the page layout file in SharePoint Designer and the link is the same as in the master, pointed to the correct location. And the CSS file has been published/checked in.
