Hi. I installed Visual Studio 2013 Express for Desktop with Update 4 this June 2015 which consumed 5gb of space. But after I found out that the WPF application for C# doesn't work, I decided to uninstall-reinstall it again, now it consumed 10gb of my hard disk space. And atlast the WPF finally works well. August 2015, just a 2 weeks ago, I decided to uninstall my version of Visual Studio to give way for Visual Studio Community 2015. So again, I uninstalled the VS2013 with Update 4 in my system, and that's when the dilemma happened.

I have successfully uninstalled VS2013 with Update 4 but I found out that all of its component should be manually uninstall. Which I did for all the MSSQL server packages that came with it when I installed it. Through CCleaner, I also deleted all the registry left by the uninstalled products. I expected to free my hard disk atleast 10gb since VS2013 and all of its component were removed from my system, but when I checked my Local C: it shows that not just it didn't free my disk of any space but it did consumed more atleast 14 more gb! Could you believe that?

At first, I thought perhaps by deleting all the cookies, registry, etc...etc... My system would revert back prior to the installation of this VS2013 with Update 4 but I was wrong. It still consumed 24gb which I don't know where and how did happened. I didn't have any movies from my laptop since I have it all on my external hard drive. And its just newly bought just this July 2015.

Does VS has other components which are not visible to my Control Panel? that is why it still consumes an additional 14gb aside from the 10gb of its installation? Anyone who had been through with the same issue? Please help me and give me some piece of advice coz am getting a little bit frustrated with it. I want to have atleast a clean disk space before installing this VS2015 community but it took me a while now since I haven't get rid of this 24gb mystery consumption. I haven't installed any program yet after I installed VS2013 with Update 4 aside from the Windows Update ofcourse. By the way, am using Windows 8.1, and when I checked the task manager a couple of days ago, I found this dwm-1.exe running. Eventhough I tried to end task it, still nothing happens. It didn't end. I did some research about it and learned from some forum that this might be a bug from Windows 8.1. Could it be so?

Maybe some shared components of visual studio 2013 with Update 4 are still remained on your machine, I suggest you take the following steps to remove the shared components of visual studio 2013:
