We are having trouble to deploy our branded masterapage to other sites or sitecollections. The masterpage works perfectly well on the site it was created. However, applying it to a site on another sitecolletion results in access troubles (apparently it tries to access its origin site).

Users who do not have access to the site the masterpage was created in, don't see every part of the branding and cannot access all lists. Also the _spPageContextInfo points to the original site instead of to the current context.

This only changes if users have access to the original site, in this case the screen looks good again, the _spPageContextInfo gets an update, and all lists are accessible.

Hi Gerrit- how did you deploy the master page to the other sites? Save it as a template and upload it to each site individually. Other than that, you'd have to give users minimum permissions to the origin site.
