After fixing my bluescreen yesterday that was caused by windows auto updates, I have now turned OFF auto updates.  Now, to keep my computer protected, how do I decide what updates to install on my comp?  Is there a forum or list anywhere that is updated every time there is an update available that lets you know what it does and if anyone is having problems with it?  Looking for something that, after I see what updates are available, I can search or see each of them by ID and see if there are probs before I load them onto my comp!  Also, now that I am doing the updates manually, how often should I check and download needed updates?
