I just cloned a repo from my Github account and set the destination to my repo folder on drive I: in my system, I have this folder set as my default repo location. THe clone succeeded, but only my .git folder was in the repo folder, all of the rest of the files for the solution were written to drive C:, at the root. The only pieces of info I could find in my searches for an explanation were many tutorials of how to clone a github repo in vs2013, and every one showed the whole project showing up in the repo folder.

I have since posting this question cloned 2 other repos with the same result, repo folder in I:\Repos created with only a .git folder in it and all other files written to the top of C; drive.

I also ran git status and it showed all of the files written to C:\ as Deleted.

I feel there must be a configuration stting or the like amiss, but I cannot find it yet.
