Please apologize in advance if I post in the wrong section.

Using VS.NET 2005, editing C# code. When I create a block comment with /* */, everytime I add a new line, the editor indent and add an asterisk in front of the new line. The editor even alter existing lines by inserting this asterisk prefix if I inserted a new line between existing lines.

Can you please show me how to turn this auto-asterisk off?

And BTW, which convention is that? Comments are displayed in green, so they are already well visible. What is the need of adding these asterisk?
