  We have an issue in share point website in dev server. The development database where the sharepoint website was pointing to crashed. So we had to install a new instance of the Database. We are not able to attach the mdf and ldf files of the old instance. So we could not restore the sharepoint databases like Appmanagement , Content Portal , Content Admin etc.  Can we restore the databases like Appmanagement , Content Portal , Content Admin from the Prod server? We have backup of the sharepoint website from the dev server. If I try to restore the sharepoint backup from dev, will it in any way hit the prod website as the databases are restored from Prod? Because if I restore the backup in dev and if it hits the prod server it will bring down the prod server sharepoint website in case of any error.

You can restore the contents to the production environment, but I' recommend you to do that under a different web application, in order to avoid any kind of potential impact on the production data.
