I am working on the maintenance side of an application that I need to fix a problem of that. It uses System.Security.Principal.WindowsIdentity.GetCurrent() to get the current user info. to permit or reject their access based on their membership in some groups. The problem is a bunch of users who are currently members of a special group regarding what I see by ActiveDirectory.msc, but the  VB.Net 2010 application cannot get their name or any correspondence to give their access permission and let them run it. I was wondering if anybody can say whether there is any problem in mapping between VB.Net and the ActiveDirectory.
