We are building a solution for all of our developers to use that includes a Virtual Server image. We have built out the image and I am trying to determine how to set the default project path to something like "c:\Projects" or the like. The reason being that when we have more than 70 developers using these virtual machines and one of our mentors has to help one of them, it will be much easier to be able to go to a static point rather than having to look up their username.

I have seen this type of thing done with Office, where the default "my documents" folder is changed for all users. Is there any way to do this with VS?

I know how to do it per user, but I don't want to have to go to each user and do it when a new user is set up.

Do you mean that you want to set the default location where new projects and solution folders and directories are created in Visual Studio?

If yes, try using Visual Studio projects location setting.
To access this dialog box, on the Tools menu, click Options, expand Projects and Solutions, click General and set Project Location.
