Hai All,
We've a SharePoint 2010 farm with thousands InfoPath forms published. Recently we've configured SSL for web applications. The detailed steps followed are given below. After SSL configuration, InfoPath forms stopped working in HTTPS, getting error when we try to publish an InfoPath form to a form library, or re-publish an existing form, or open item in browser. Everything works fine if you try to access using HTTP. Now we have disabled the URL re-direct from HTTP to HTTPS. Please share your thoughts why InfoPath form is not working in HTTPS. Thanks in advance.

Requirement:
- SSL (HTTPS) implementation for Intranet sites
- Redirecting HTTP request to HTTPS
Implementation:
- Create Self signed certificate using IIS Manager
- Add the certificate to MMC console under the Personal store and Trusted Root authority certificate
- Open IIS -> locate the web application -> Click on Bindings
- In the bindings window, Select Add -> Change type to HTTPS, port 443 and Select the certificate from SSL drop down.
- Add the certificate to SharePoint Central Admin -> Security -> Manage trust
- Configure Alternate Access mappings accordingly to access sites using HTTPS
- Sites will be loading with both HTTP and HTTPS
- Using URL Rewrite in IIS, Set up rules to redirect HTTP request to HTTPS. (We've disabled this for time-being)
Functioning:
- Sites are opening with HTTPS connection
- HTTP requests are redirected to HTTPS connection
Challenges/Issue:
- Infopath not working, Unable to publish new or existing form template.
- Web Service related error while opening new or existing record in browser. Error is "An undelying connection was closed. unable to send...)
Hi kannan,
This error usually happens due to connection timeout or security reason. You can try below things for narrowing down your issue:
1. Install the intermediate root certificate.
2. Go to Central Administration > Security > Manage Trust. Make sure if you have added all root certificates into SharePoint Trusted Root Certificate authority.
3. Go to Central Administration > General Application Settings > Configure InfoPath Forms Services. Increased the "Default data connection timeout" and "Maximum data connection timeout" settings for Forms Services.
4. Check ULS log and event log, try to find more error message about this issue to help identify the cause. The default location of the ULS log in SharePoint 2010 is:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\Web Server Extensions\14\LOGS
