As pasztorpisti says, the box on the ''My Settings'' page does the trick.
Note, however, that changing your display name does NOT change the name on messages you previously posted.

Some devious members have been known to change their name, make a post and change the name back. However, the sender link in the message with the temporary name points to the (only) member profile. So they can''t really hide.
