This workflow works if I hard code the serial number into the workflow. the problem is there are over 8000 serial numbers that could be entered and the workflow would need to check for a possible match on serial numbers.

Problem is  I do not think that SPD will want me to hardcode 8000 serial numbers for it to check,  that could be in the order list.

is there away to turn this  variable :  CheckID  to 111111, where the 111111 is a variable ?  as that is the serial number that is stored in another list and it is stored in the list as serial number of the product being order. as I doubt that  the client will want to have this hard coded.

Hi FAAS- when/what are you checking against? IE: are you checking a new item and seeing if there's a duplicate number in the list?
