Hi,

My site is: http://www.shaunak.ws and I am facing some problems on it for about 2 months now.

Occasionally, when I type my site''s address without the "www" [http://shaunak.ws] I am redirected to a strange page filled with advertisements.

I have had this site for a long time now, and have never faced this problem.

This is my htaccess file: http://sharetext.org/LKSI[^]

My hosting provider is http://www.whost.in/
I contacted them but they could not identify the problem.
My domain name registrar is http://www.netlynx.com/
Even they could not identify the problem.

This happens on my PC, my friend''s PC and my PC at work, so I don''t think it''s a malware or virus issue with a particular computer. I cant figure out why is this hapenning, is it a DNS issue, domain name issue, server/ host issue?
The server is a linux based one.

Please tell me what I need to do to resolve this and why is this hapenning?

A sneaky way some malware work is to register additional DNS servers that areresponsbile for serving up malicious content, such a advertising or more malware infected sites. DNSChanger was a well known malware that done exactly this,

Because they are registered alongside your ''normal'' DNS, you get erratic results - sometimes you see the correct content, sometimes you see the malicious content.

Maybe follow the instructions in that article to see if you have any rogue DNS entries, you can achieve similar through cmd->ipconfig /all

Run a full malware scan as well. Malwarebytes [^] is my favourite for this.

This was probably caused because the DNS records were not set correctly. It was accidentally set to "ns2yaghost.com" instead of ns2.yaghost.com.

Correcting this seems to have resolved the issue
