I have a Dell Inspiron 2200 with Window Xp Home. I upgraded it to Vista but it was very slow & acted stupid,so I wanted to take it back out . I didn't know that I could not take Vista out and keep XP with out reinstalling XP. My wife made a i think its called recovery disc from her desktop Dell pc . Of course her OS was different from mine so I was totally messed up. I was able to get online & go to Dell support & download some of the drivers I needed. It was very slow unless I booted up in safe mode, so I did that for a while but then safe mode got very slow . I can't get any disc from Dell b/c I bought this laptop used & the warranty was out, so needless to say they are no help. I have no disc for this laptop & now I am getting a error about a "Hal.Dll" being missing or corrupted. I am totally blank now on what to do, it takes like 30 minutes or more just for it to get to the desktop let alone try to surf. Anyone have any ideas on what I can do to try and fix this ? I would appreciate any & all help . I can't do a restore to factory b/c I guess I lost it all when I installed my wife's recovery disc to my laptop. Please someone help me !!!!
