I have a column in my list library called 'Status' which has a drop down selection of the document status.

In the word document, I want the user to be able to select the document status and this will then update that field in the list library. I have added the 'Status' field via the quick parts and selecting the poperty, but that property is not a drop down selection.

Is there a way to do this? I know I could do this in the document properties panel but many users are not familiar with this and would prefer to select the status within the word document front sheet.

First create the Status field and select it as "Choice Field" and add the status value. Now go to Library setting ->Advanced Settings.
