Generally the professional versions have more tools for testing, team server and sutch things. If you are a single developer who wants to learn VS you dont need all the tools. There are more example code with the paid versions, but I dont know if you would get these examples with the trail versions.

Hi,

Visual studio is only IDE(Integrated Development Environment), Learning IDE is not as important as learning .NET framework. I suggest you to get knowledge of the C# first. It''s fine if you choose any of the version.

For me, both the version looks fine for beginner. Ofcourse there are a lot more features available in full version compare to express edition.

So, My personal suggestion is to install Express edition first. When you think you have sufficient knowledge you can install full trial version and find out more features.
